In Paradise, Pennsylvania, Cate Miller is known more for her sharp tongue and fiery temper than her striking appearance. Her sweet and flirty sister, Betsy, on the other hand, seems to have attracted most of the bachelors in Lancaster County! But the sisters' wealthy father has made one hard-and-fast rule: older Cate must marry first, before younger Betsy can even start courting. Unfortunately, untamable Cate has driven away every suitor--until Pete Treger comes to town, that is. Prodded by the men of the area, Pete turns his attention to winning Cate's hand. But is his interest true or is there a scheme at play?Amish fiction is one of my favourite genres. I am not big on Shakespeare and the shakesperian language but was told that this novel is similar to the taming of the shrew. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. Cate is not your typical Amish woman, looking to marry off and stat a family of her own. Cate actually hates cooking and cleaning and the kitchen in general and is why she has scared off all the bachelors in her aea, that's when Pete comes to town. There is a lot of humor and lightheartedness which makes for a great ready. Looking forward to book 2!
